Testimonials
Sample reviews shown while we collect verified customer feedback.
“Sent the VIN on a Tuesday morning and had pricing back before lunch. The engine arrived crated, the mileage matched the quote, and nothing was missing off the accessory list.”
R. Mendoza
“They matched the transmission to my VIN instead of guessing from the model year. My build date fell after a mid-year change, so that call saved me a return and a second week off the road.”
D. Kowalski
“Clear pricing, the core terms were stated on the quote rather than buried, and someone picked up the phone when I had a question about the return window.”
T. Brennan

Common questions
The questions we are asked most, answered straight. If yours is not here, call and ask.
Most used engines fall between roughly $500 and $3,000, with the spread driven by the engine rather than the vehicle: a four-cylinder from a common economy car sits at the bottom, a low-mileage diesel or a late-model V8 at the top. Mileage, how complete the unit is and freight to your ZIP code all move the number, which is why we quote on the specific engine rather than publishing a list price. Call for a figure on your vehicle and you will usually have one the same day.
It is usually worth it when the replacement costs less than about half of what the vehicle is worth running, and the rest of the car is sound. A used engine in a vehicle with good tyres, a solid transmission and no rust is almost always cheaper than the deposit and finance on a replacement car. Where it stops making sense is a vehicle with several other failures queued up behind the engine, and we will say so rather than sell you a unit you will regret.
There is no hard ceiling, but under 100,000 miles is the sweet spot for most petrol engines and the price climbs as the mileage drops. A well-maintained engine at 120,000 miles can easily outlast a neglected one at 60,000, so service history matters as much as the odometer. Every engine we quote has its recorded mileage stated, so you are weighing a known number rather than a guess.
A used engine is a complete running unit pulled from a donor vehicle and sold as is. A rebuilt engine has had its failed parts replaced, usually the ones that broke, with the rest left alone. A remanufactured engine is stripped to the block and rebuilt to factory specification with all wear parts renewed. Remanufactured costs the most and carries the longest warranty; used costs the least and, on a vehicle with years rather than decades left in it, is normally the sensible economics.
Warranty options are available on most of the units we supply, and the terms that apply to your specific part are stated on the quote before you order rather than assumed afterwards. Coverage typically runs on the internally lubricated components for a defined period from delivery. Labour and fluids are normally excluded unless a labour option is bought alongside it.
Quotes are usually answered within one business day, and once an order is confirmed the unit ships as palletised freight, typically arriving within a few business days depending on distance. Delivery to a repair shop is faster and cheaper than to a home address, because a commercial site normally has a forklift or dock and does not need a liftgate appointment.
Both. Roughly half of what we ship goes to independent repair shops and the rest to owners handling the job themselves or managing the cost of one. The process is the same either way, though we will ask where the unit is being delivered, since a residential address needs a liftgate and that changes the freight cost.
Yes. The year, make, model and engine size get us close enough to quote, and for many vehicles that is all it takes. The VIN matters at the point of ordering, because manufacturers change engine and transmission variants mid-model-year and it is the only way to confirm which one your vehicle actually left the factory with. We confirm that before anything ships.
