Returns & Cores
How returns work, and what a core charge is.
Returns
If something is wrong with an order, tell us before the unit is installed. Once an engine or transmission has been fitted, the options narrow considerably for everyone.
Return window and condition
- Returns are accepted within the window stated on your order documentation
- Units must be uninstalled and in the condition supplied
- Original documentation and any tags must still be attached
- Return shipping is arranged through us so the unit is handled and insured correctly
If we supplied the wrong part
If a unit does not match the VIN you gave us, that is our error. Contact us before installation and we will arrange collection and either the correct unit or a refund, at no cost to you.
Core charges
Some units carry a refundable core charge — a deposit that is returned when your old unit comes back to us. Where a core charge applies it is stated on the quote, along with the return window.
- Return the core in the crate or on the pallet the replacement arrived on
- Drain fluids before shipping, as carriers require
- Cores must be complete and rebuildable to qualify for the refund
- Return within the window stated on your order
Starting a return
Call 1-800-555-0199 or send a message with your order number and what is wrong. Do not ship anything back before contacting us — unannounced returns cannot be tracked to your order.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I return a used engine if I change my mind?
Within the return window stated on your order, provided the unit has not been installed and is in the condition supplied. Once an engine or transmission has been fitted the options narrow sharply, so contact us before any work starts.
What if the part you sent does not fit?
If the unit does not match the VIN you gave us, that is our error. Contact us before installation and we arrange collection and either the correct part or a refund, at no cost to you.
What is a core charge and how do I get it back?
A core charge is a refundable deposit on some units, returned when your old part comes back to us. Send it back on the pallet the replacement arrived on, drain the fluids first as carriers require, and make sure it is complete and rebuildable. The amount and the return window are both stated on your quote.
Who pays return shipping?
If we supplied the wrong part, we do. For a change of mind, return freight is normally the buyer's, and it is arranged through us so the unit is handled and insured properly on the way back.
